Community Game: Long Live the Queen XVI

You take Presence, for a new score of Presence 32.22, and Poisons, for a new score of 21.62.

Event: The King says, "Remember, the Festival of the Good Lady is approaching. There will be public celebrations for the commoners followed by a grand gala for the nobility. As Queen, you are expected to lead the procession and take part in the ceremonial planting, possibly give a speech. However, you are not yet crowned, so it isn't required. It may not be safe to expose you to the public."

Fatal: What do you mean, not safe?

Joslyn: Outside of the castle, you are less well-protected. If anyone means you harm... Think on it now and decide later. By the way, there is a letter for you.

Fatal: It's from Briony, daughter of the Duchess of Mead. I went to school with her, but she is a couple of years older than me. She's complaining that her mother won't let her come home for the holidays. frown emoticon Apparently her uncle Kevan is absolutely furious about that woman's trial. She says she's bored and looking for an adventure...

Princess Fatal's Diary:

Dear Diary,

I wish I could complain that I'm bored. Well, I'M NOT. What do you do if people casually murder women in front of you?! I'M NOT BORED, LET ME TELL YOU. Unlike SOME people.

In other news, I've been working with Poisons this week. Who knows? Maybe my body will get used to them before the next time someone tries to poison me. And it will come in handy in the future when I am no longer on the poisonee end of the transaction (I've also learned some Accounting). Also this week, I'm studying etiquette and poise. Can I casually murder someone, and which fork should I use to do so? One needs to know these things.

It is now the weekend.

1. Visit the Royal Treasury (+1 Willful, +1 Angry)
2. Attend court (+2 Yielding, +1 Depressed + 1 Pressured)
3. Explore Castle (+1 Lonely, +1 Afraid)
4. Visit Tomb (+1 Depressed, +1 Afraid)
5. Attend Service (-1 Angry)
6. Walk in Garden (+1 Lonely, +1 Cheerful)
7.Play Sports (+1 Angry, - 1 Lonely)
8. Sneak out (+2 Willful, +1 Lonely)
9. Play with toys (+1 Yielding, +1 Lonely, +1 Cheerful)
10. Visit Dungeon (+1 Yielding, +1 Afraid)

The players now realize I am writing the diary entries.  One asks, "Are you writing the diary entries or are they in the game?"  From then on, he will start "Liking" all of the diary posts.

You spend the weekend playing with toys. You now have

Mood: Yielding (Angry 1, Cheerful 1, Yielding 4, Lonely 4).

I will go ahead and include another week in this post.

You take a class in Presence to increase to 50. You have now reached the skill cap in Presence; you must raise your other Royal Demeanor skills over 25 to eliminate the skill cap. You also take Accounting. You now have Accounting 22.68.

Event:

Your father asks, "Today is the procession and planting for the Feast of the Good Lady. Will you be leading the procession? If you have any concerns about your safety, please, stay here. The people will recover from disappointment. If we lose you, there is no recovery."

What should you do?

1. I will lead the parade.
2. I will parade and make a speech.
3. I would rather not go.

A player suggests, "I think we should not go.  Although if I were going to assassinate her, I'd totally do it while she was alone at the castle and everyone else was distracted by this ...royal procession or whatever."

Fatal: I guess...I'd rather stay here.

You watch the procession from your tower window, feeling safe but lonely. (+1 Yielding, + 1 Lonely) Suddenly, you hear someone moving around inside your tower. You turn in surprise, but it was only Alice, your maid.

Alice: !!! My lady? What are you--shouldn't you be in the procession?

(You pass a faith skill check and think, "It's a major festival, but there are other ways to celebrate.")

Should you:

1. Confess your fears.
2. Yell at her.
3. Make a religious excuse.

A player suggests, "Sounds like none of her d*** business. Religious excuse?"

Fatal: I prefer to give the Good Lady thanks while meditating.
Alice: Very wise, Your Highness.

Your mood is now Yielding (Angry 1, Cheerful 1, Yielding 5, Lonely 5).

It is the weekend.

Don't forget your father told you there will be a Royal Ball next week.

The players once again try to storm the treasury.

(You fail an Accounting skill check. You partially succeed on a Presence skill check.) The guards waver, but in the end, they decide to obey your father's wishes and not let you in the treasury. (+1 Willful)
